Gold Key Racquet Club’s 35th Anniversary Celebration
Mark your calendar for the 35th Anniversary Celebration of Gold Key Racquet Club on Saturday, June 6. This special evening will feature a pro exhibition, cookout, and a variety of fun activities and surprises as we celebrate 35 incredible years. The event is free for members and $40 for non-members, and advance sign-up is required. If you attended our 30th anniversary, you’ll understand why you don’t want to miss this event!

 

Club Software Update
We are getting close to launching our new club software, and while the process has taken a bit longer than expected, we are excited about the improvements it will bring. Once everything is live, all members will be notified via email and text. The new system will allow you to book courts online anytime from your phone or computer, view real-time availability, and manage reservations with ease. It also includes a dedicated mobile app where you can handle bookings, review your account, and make updates all in one place. Please note that credit card information will not transfer over, so you will need to re-enter your payment details once the system launches. CourtReserve will also streamline sign-ups for clinics, leagues, and events, while keeping you informed with timely updates. One of the most anticipated features will allow you to book directly with your favorite tennis pros online, all designed to create a smoother and more convenient member experience. 

 

Serve & Sip: Pre-Mother’s Day Social
Join us on May 8 from 10am to 12pm for our Serve & Sip: Pre-Mother’s Day Social, a relaxed and social on-court event celebrating our tennis moms. This experience is all about great tennis, good vibes, and well-deserved appreciation, whether you are a seasoned player or just out to have fun. The event includes a welcome drink station, light snacks and fruit, a small gift bag, a 30-minute warm-up clinic, social tennis, fun challenge stations with prizes, and giveaways. The cost is $50, with a special $40 rate for the first 10 moms to sign up. Space is limited to 24 players and is expected to sell out.

 

Ladies 3.0 to 3.5 Summer Showdown
Get ready for one of the most fun and competitive events of the summer, our Ladies 3.0 to 3.5 Summer Showdown. This 10-week team competition features captains Emily, Vicki, and Tricia leading their squads in a battle for bragging rights and a spot in the August 8 championship. Matches take place every Wednesday night starting at 7:30 pm, offering fast-paced play, team strategy, and plenty of opportunities to elevate your game. Weekly drink specials add to the energy, and the buy-in includes match balls and watch party snacks throughout the season. The cost is $25 for members and $50 for non-members, and spots are limited. SWITA Junior Intensive Camp
Our SWITA Junior Intensive Camp returns on May 16 from 4:00 to 7:30 pm. This invitational program is designed for players ready to move beyond practice and into true competition, with fast-paced drills, structured match play, and a focus on building a stronger competitive mindset. The cost is $85 and includes dinner.

 

SWITA Adult Intensive Camp
On May 23 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, adult players can take part in our SWITA Adult Intensive Camp. This invitational experience allows participants to train like our top juniors using the same drills and structure, with a focus on movement, consistency, and point play. This is a fast-paced, demanding session designed for players serious about improving. The cost is $50 and includes dinner.

 

USTA Junior Tournament
From May 29 through May 31, the club will host a USTA Junior Tournament led by former junior Lincoln Baldonado. This event will bring high-level junior competition to the club and continue to showcase the strength of our developing players.

 

Clinic Updates
We are rolling out several clinic updates to enhance the overall training experience. On Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:00 pm, we are introducing The Technique Lab, an adult clinic focused on stroke mechanics, footwork, and body positioning through high-repetition, intentional drilling. On Fridays, we are replacing the Gentlemen’s Clinic with The Doubles IQ Clinic, running every other week from 7:00 to 8:30 pm and alternating with the Ladies Clinic, focusing on doubles strategy, positioning, and communication. On Sundays, Intermediate Live Ball will transition into a structured Intermediate Clinic to better support player development. Please confirm all events and times through the web portal.

 

Greg Beers Memorial Recap
Thank you to everyone who joined us on April 18 for the Greg Beers Memorial Event. This special fundraiser honored Greg’s legacy while raising over $4,000 to support stroke education and research at the University of Iowa. It was a fantastic event for a meaningful cause, and we look forward to making it an annual tradition.

Tuesday Night Men’s Doubles
Tuesday nights bring a great mix of competition and camaraderie with Men’s Doubles starting at 7 pm. This rotating format keeps play engaging, with courts grouped by level for balanced matchups. Members receive priority access, and non-members fill in as space allows. After play, many players stick around to unwind with drinks and snacks. To join, email cheryl@goldkeyracquetclub.com.

 

Thursday Night Mixed Doubles
Thursday evenings are dedicated to mixed doubles, offering a fun and social coed format starting at 7 pm each week. Open to all levels, courts are organized to ensure competitive and enjoyable play. Summer Camp Registration Now Open
Now is the time to plan for summer camp. Our Gold Key Summer Camp programs are designed to keep kids active, engaged, and developing their skills while building confidence and a love for the game. We offer a Recreational Camp for players of all levels throughout June, as well as Pre-Elite and Elite Academy programs for more advanced players over an eight-week period. Sessions begin June 1, space is limited, and a $100 deposit is required to reserve your spot. Registration is now open online at www.goldkeyracquetclub.com or at the front desk.
