Top Gun Singles

Are you eager for some spirited singles competition? If the answer is yes, then our new Top Gun Singles Play might be just what you’re looking for! Join us every Sunday from 2 to 4 pm for an exciting singles match-up. Members can drop in for free; just bring along a can of balls and sign in on the iPad at the front desk with your name and USTA number. If you don’t have a USTA number, we’ve got you covered. Non-members are also welcome, paying a nominal fee of $12 and contributing a can of balls. Matchplay will be organized based on players’ USTA numbers, employing a single-set format with ad scoring. Court 1 will set the pace for playtime. Winners ascend and move up a court, while losers gracefully shift down. This is a fantastic opportunity to indulge in some quality singles play and make the most of the pleasant weather. For any inquiries, feel free to contact Cody at cody@goldkeyracquetclub.com. Get ready to serve up some fun on the courts!

Friday Junior Match Play & Tournaments

Calling all junior players eager to step into the competitive tennis scene! The USTA has a fantastic lineup of upcoming tournaments tailored for both 10 and under players and 10 to 18-year-old players. Mark your calendars for the March 2 tournament at the Phoenix Tennis Center for our 10 & under stars, and the February 17 tournament for the 10 to 18-year-old talents. To ensure you’re match-ready, Coach Katie has organized a Friday night match practice running from 5 to 6:30 PM. The first session is scheduled for February 16, followed by the second on March 1. These practice matches are golden opportunities to fine-tune your skills, focusing on serve and scoring, while also gaining valuable matchplay experience. Don’t miss out on this chance to level up your game! For additional details, sign up at the front desk – your tennis journey awaits!

Foley Ranch is Now Open

We are thrilled to share the exciting news about the grand opening of Phoenix’s newest country hotspot – Foley Ranch! Nestled in the heart of Desert Ridge Marketplace, Foley Ranch is not just another country bar; it’s a tribute to the Talbot brothers’ family roots. Club ownersand siblings, Scott and Don Talbot, spent summers in Montana, contributing to the family cattle ranch founded in 1947 by their great Uncle John Foley. Foley Ranch at Desert Ridge brings the spirit of Big Sky country to Phoenix, offering live music, dancing, and the finest BBQ in the Southwest, courtesy of TV celebrity Chef Brian Duffy. Dust off those cowboy boots and experience the authentic charm of Foley Ranch – a slice of Montana in the Southwest. Keep an eye out for future club outings; who knows, we might plan a night for some country dance lessons!

The excitement kicks off at 5 pm, with rackets in hand and smiles all around. But the fun doesn’t stop on the courts – at 7:30 pm, it’s time to transition from backhands to bar crawls. Clinic Stacking

We’d like to bring to your attention an ongoing challenge regarding clinic bookings. Some members have been reserving spots for clinics two weeks in advance, booking multiple sessions without considering their schedules. Unfortunately, they then proceed to cancel either four hours before or on the day of the clinic, leaving waitlisted members with insufficient time to adjust their plans and join the session. While most of our clinics have waitlists, not all spots are filled due to this issue. To address this matter, we’ll be closely monitoring such behavior and implementing adjustments. This may involve limitations on or cancellation of accounts engaging in this misuse. Additionally, we are considering extending the cancellation window to 12 hours. Members failing to cancel within this timeframe and subsequently no-showing will be subject to a $10 fee. Our aim is to ensure fairness and maximize court time for all players. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us achieve this goal. Let’s work together to make our tennis community enjoyable and considerate for everyone.

After the clinic, treat yourself with discounts on both beer and wine available in the sports bar. Alternatively, enjoy your well-earned libation outdoors next to the new fire pit that was recently completed.
