Holiday Party
Join us for our Membership Appreciation and Holiday Party on Friday night, December 12th at 6 p.m. This special evening is open to members and non members, including former members and prospects who currently attend clinics. We will kick things off with a chili dinner complete with all the fixings, followed by dessert. After dinner, enjoy a pro exhibition featuring Coach Luis, Cody, Judah and Theo at 7 p.m. Then, head into the newly remodeled proshop at 8:30 p.m. for a fun game of Left Right Center. The event is free for members, and non members can join the dinner and show for $30. Please bring canned food and non perishable goods to support our Holiday Food Drive, and do not forget to bring three one dollar bills if you want to play Left Right Center.

 

Moms Pantry Holiday Food Drive
The holiday season is here and our Moms Pantry Holiday Food Drive is back. Two collection bins will be located in the proshop by the front door all month long, so please bring canned goods and non perishable food items to help support our cause. The food drive will run throughout the month of December, and every donation makes a difference for families in need.

 

Monthly Trivia Continues
Monthly Trivia is back for its third consecutive night, and we are celebrating in our newly remodeled proshop. This fun evening is open to members, Friday night clinic players, and post match league players. The categories for this month will be Technology, Geography, Movies and Sports, so start brushing up on your knowledge. Enjoy one dollar off all beer and wine along with light snacks while you play. Trivia will be held on Friday night, December 19th at 8:15 p.m., and our next Trivia night is already scheduled for January 9th.

 

Sunday Afternoon Singles Top Gun Drop In
Our Sunday Afternoon Singles Top Gun drop in is back and open to all levels. This clinic is free for members, and non members may participate with a fifteen dollar guest fee. Simply sign up through the Wellness Living app, show up ready to play, and bring a can of balls. Non members can purchase a fifteen dollar Top Gun Drop In Clinic pass, then register through the app. Sunday Afternoon Singles will be held every Sunday at 12 p.m. starting on December 7th.

 

Tuesday Night Men's Doubles
Tuesday Night Men’s Doubles is a new weekly social play opportunity designed for our male players. Members have priority for sign ups, and non members may be used as subs when needed. Play begins at 7 p.m. each Tuesday, where players will enjoy a relaxed social format, playing eight games with everyone serving twice before switching partners on the same court. Courts will be set and players organized each week, with matches arranged by level so that everyone has a great experience. After tennis, players are invited to head into the proshop for drinks and snacks served by Jessie. All you need to do is confirm your spot, show up, and bring a can of balls. If you are interested, email cody@goldkeyracquetclub.com. The first Tuesday Night Men’s Doubles will be held on December 2nd, and we will build our member list and schedule play from there.

 

Thursday Night Mixed Doubles
Thursday Night Mixed Doubles is now a standing weekly evening of social coed play. Members receive priority, and non members may be used as subs when spots are available. Play begins every Thursday at 7 p.m., and all levels are invited. Courts will be organized based on level to ensure fun and competitive matches for everyone. Once you are confirmed, just show up ready to play and bring a can of balls. If you are interested in joining the program, email cody@goldkeyracquetclub.com. Our first Thursday Night Mixed Doubles will be on December 4th, and we will create a member list of interested players and reach out each week to organize play.

 

Pro Shop Remodel Update
We are excited to share that the pro shop and bar area remodel is nearing completion. The project took a little longer than expected, but the results have been well worth the wait. Along with the fresh new look, we will be unveiling an updated menu featuring several highly requested food and beverage additions. New programming and special events are also on the way, so stay tuned for details.

 

Holiday Hours Reminder
As we move into the holiday season, please take note of our modified hours. The club will close at noon on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24th, and will remain closed on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25th. We will also close at noon on Wednesday, December 31st for New Year’s Eve and reopen at noon on Thursday, January 1st for New Year’s Day. Please double-check the adult clinic schedule for any related updates.

 

New Year’s Junior Challenger Tournament
Gold Key will host a USTA Junior Challenger event on December 27th and 28th. Registration closes December 23rd, and the tournament is open to juniors ages 12 to 18. Our own Lincoln Baldonado will serve as Tournament Director. The entry fee is $47, and players may register at www.playtennis.usta.com.

 

Junior Academy, Next Session
The final four-week Junior Academy session of the year began the week of November 24th. Future Stars, our introductory class, now meets on Fridays at 6 p.m. Please remember to register and submit payment at the start of each session so that we can plan staffing and court usage accordingly.
