Club News November 2021

Arrowhead Exchange

Join us for an exciting tennis exchange with our friends from Arrowhead Country Club on Saturday, November 20th! The fun starts at 5pm with some mixed up doubles. We will conclude the tennis with a special challenge that will pit club vs club! The winning club will be awarded an awesome traveling trophy to display at their club until the next meeting! So far, Arrowhead has been able to hang on to the Trophy for the last two exchanges, so the pressure is on! After the tennis, we will be serving up jumbo hotdogs on the grill with picnic style side dishes and dessert. Because we are hosting the event, there is no charge for our guests, and members will be charged $15 per person to play. All levels are invited and we encourage you to come out and support your club. Please note that this is a member only event. Please sign up in advance and any questions, please see Coach Cody Kacerek.

Club and Clinic Changes

We are still on a waiting list for new members, but are getting people in as fast as we can. All monthly dues have increased for anyone joining the club after October 31st, but if you have secured your spot on the wait list, you will be locked into the old rate for one year.

Please note that all Adult clinics now cost $18 per class. We have been fighting off a price increase for the past few years, but operating expenses and the scarcity of tennis balls has hit record levels, making it unavoidable. We still believe our program is one of the best in the valley and we will continue to bring your the high level programming you have come to expect from the club.

There are only a few changes for clinics in November. The Intermediate Clinic on Wednesday at 8pm has been  changed to an Intermediate Plus clinic. The Top Gun clinic on Friday at 5pm is now an Advanced Clinic. To participate in a Intermediate Plus or Advanced clinic, you need to have instructor approval.  Any ideas, input and approvals should  be communicated to Adult Director Cody Kacerek at cody@goldkeyracquetclub.com.

Membership Appreciation Party

We have set the official date for our popular Membership Appreciation/Holiday Party, and it will be on Saturday, December 11th! The event will feature Tennis Clinics, a  Tennis Social, a Dinner and a Tennis Exhibition featuring some of our top juniors and our amazing teaching staff. The best part of these parties is that they are Free for membership and $30 per person for non-members.  Please sign up in advance so we can make sure we plan for enough food!

Next Junior Academy Session

The new session of the fall junior tennis program starts the week of November 1st. Each session runs for 4 weeks, but late starts are always welcomed. Please note that missed classes do not carry over to the next session.  There is a calendar showing the complete season on the back of the Academy brochure to help you plan. If you have any questions on the program or where your junior fits in, please contact Director Luis Ridaura at luis@switacademy.com.  More information is available at the front desk and on the club’s website.

SWITA Development Camp

We continue to hold our player development camps once a month and the kids progressing in the program are amazing!  The next development camp will be on Saturday, November 27th. This is a 3 hours workshop  for developing players to participate in to be evaluated, and to have their skill set tested. This is also a great opportunity for parents to meet with the program’s Director,  Luis Ridaura, to discuss their junior’s progression and plan. This development workshop is for all players up to Pre-Elite level. These are invitation only events and spots are limited. If you have questions or interested in attending, please contact Luis Ridaura at luis@switacademy.com

Beer Club Outing

We have a Craft Beer club tour planned to a local brewery on Sunday afternoon, November 21st. If you are interested in attending, please sign up in the proshop or email cody@goldkeyracquetclub.com.

Closed Thanksgiving

Please note that the club will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 25th so that our staff can be with their families. Court reservations for Saturday can be made Wednesday morning at 8:30am. Enjoy your holiday!

Massage Therapy

When was the last time you did something for yourself?  May we suggest an appointment with the club’s licensed massage therapist, Erika Miller. Call her direct at 602-413-7041.
