Join us as we celebrate 35 incredible years of tennis, friendship, family, and community at Gold Key Racquet Club. Our 35th Anniversary Celebration will take place on Saturday, June 6, with a fun evening designed to bring members, families, and guests together for a memorable club celebration. The evening will include fun tennis activities, a hot dog cookout with all the fixings, a pro exhibition featuring our teaching staff, door prizes, live music by Jeordie, and plenty of surprises throughout the night. This special event is free for members and $40 for non-members. Advance sign up is required, so please reserve your spot early and come help us celebrate this milestone together.
CourtReserve Software Update
CourtReserve is now live, and we are officially transitioning away from WellnessLiving for clinic and court bookings. Members should now use CourtReserve to book clinics, reserve courts, manage account information, and view real time availability from a phone or computer. The new system can be accessed through the club website at www.goldkeyracquetclub.com by clicking the Member Portal at the top of the page. CourtReserve also offers a mobile app, making it easier to handle reservations, clinic sign ups, account updates, and club communication all in one place. Please note that credit card information does not transfer from WellnessLiving, so members will need to re-enter payment details in the new system. This upgrade is an important step toward creating a smoother, more convenient member experience, including easier event registration, better communication, and online booking with your favorite tennis pros.
Wimbledon Team Challenge, Sunday, July 12
Get ready to bring a little Wimbledon spirit to Gold Key Racquet Club with our Wimbledon Team Challenge on Sunday, July 12 at 8:00 AM. This fun and competitive team event will feature 24 players divided into two teams of 12, with the Green Team led by Coach Judah and the Purple Team led by Coach Theo. Players will compete in an exciting Up and Down the River doubles format, where winning pairs move up one court, losing pairs move down one court, and every round earns valuable points for the team.
All matches will be played as 5 game doubles sets, with Court 1 serving as the top court and Court 6 as the bottom court. Each court win is worth 2 points, and every round will count for double points, making every game matter. To add even more excitement, there may be an optional final tiebreak worth 5 bonus points, giving teams one last chance to make a comeback before the final score is tallied. The team with the highest total score will be crowned champion.
To complete the Wimbledon atmosphere, all players are encouraged to wear classic all white tennis attire, with green and purple wristbands used to distinguish the teams. We may even add a Wimbledon inspired touch with strawberries and cream to make the morning feel extra special. Space is limited to 24 players, so be sure to sign up early. The cost is $20 per player.
SWITA Father’s Day Mini Tennis Tournament, Saturday, June 20
Celebrate Father’s Day with a fun, competitive, and family friendly doubles event at SWITA on Saturday, June 20th starting at 10am. Our Father’s Day Mini Tennis Tournament is a unique parent and child event that combines mini tennis with exciting kitchen rules inspired by pickleball. The result is fast paced rallies, plenty of teamwork, lots of strategy, and a great atmosphere for players of all levels.
Each team will include one parent and one daughter or son. Teams will be placed into divisions based on playing level to help create fun and competitive matches. The A Division is for elite teams where both parent and child are advanced players. The B Division is for challenger teams where one player is advanced and the other is beginner or intermediate. The C Division is for recreational teams where both players are beginner or intermediate. Teams may always choose to play up a division, but may not play down. Tournament directors may also adjust divisions as needed to help maintain competitive balance.
Matches will be played using a mini tennis format inside the service boxes only. A taped line will create the kitchen zone, adding a fun twist to traditional tennis. Players may not volley while standing inside the kitchen zone, but they may enter the kitchen after the ball bounces. Any kitchen volley violation will result in the loss of the point. This format is designed to encourage longer rallies, quick reactions, smart shot selection, teamwork, and plenty of laughs along the way.
Players may use junior or regular racquets, and matches may be played with orange dot, green dot, or foam balls depending on division and level. The tournament will feature round robin play followed by playoffs, with multiple guaranteed matches for every team. Matches will be played first to 11 points, win by 2, with an optional golden point at deuce to keep things moving and add a little extra drama.
The atmosphere will be competitive, family friendly, social, high energy, and fun for all levels. Expect music, great rallies, fun moments, social media highlights, and plenty of friendly competition as parents and kids team up for a memorable Father’s Day event at SWITA.

Clinic Updates
We are making a few updates to our weekly clinic schedule to help make each program clearer, more focused, and easier for players to choose the right fit. On Tuesdays, Try Tennis will now be called Beginner Tennis Clinic, giving newer players a welcoming place to learn the basics, build confidence, and continue improving. Match Practice will now become Shot of the Week, with Coach Theo leading players through focused instruction on a specific stroke, pattern, or tactical theme each week. Kade will continue leading the Intermediate Clinic, giving players a strong next step as they develop more consistency and match skills.
On Wednesdays, the Advanced Clinic will run from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, followed by the newly named Serve Clinic from 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM. The Serve Clinic replaces Serve and Return and will focus specifically on serve technique, placement, consistency, and confidence. This clinic will be limited to 10 players, so early sign up is recommended.
Our Thursday Match Mixer will offer a fun and competitive match play opportunity each Thursday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The mixer will be limited to a maximum of 16 players, with up to 4 courts used when the draw is full. Sign up will close on Wednesday evening, and match assignments will be posted on the front desk whiteboard before play begins. Please note that there will be no coach on court during match play. The event requires an even number of players, so early sign up is strongly encouraged to help secure your spot and keep the format running smoothly.

Tuesday Night Men’s Doubles
Tuesday nights bring a great mix of competition and camaraderie with Men’s Doubles starting at 7:00 PM. After play, many players stick around to unwind with drinks and snacks. To join the weekly list, email cheryl@goldkeyracquetclub.com.
Summer Camp Is Underway
Gold Key Summer Camp is officially underway, and there is still time to join the fun.
