Gold Key Racquet Club’s 35th Anniversary Celebration

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Gold Key Racquet Club’s 35th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, June 6. It was a fantastic evening filled with great company, club memories, and some outstanding tennis from our talented teaching staff. We truly appreciate everyone who helped make this milestone celebration so memorable.

To commemorate 35 years of tennis, friendship, family, and community, members may pick up a complimentary 35th Anniversary T-shirt while supplies last. Members who have not yet received one are encouraged to stop by the front desk, pick up a shirt, and wear it with Gold Key pride.

CourtReserve Update

CourtReserve is now fully operational and should be used for all clinic registrations and court reservations. Members can use CourtReserve to view real time court availability, register for clinics and events, manage account information, and make reservations from a phone or computer. The system can be accessed through the club website at www.goldkeyracquetclub.com by selecting Member Portal at the top of the page. A CourtReserve mobile app is also available, making it even easier to manage club activities and receive important updates.

Several members still need to add or update their payment method in CourtReserve. Please complete this as soon as possible to prevent any interruption when registering for clinics, events, or court time. Anyone experiencing difficulty accessing or updating an account should contact the front desk at 602-993-1900.

Club Closing Early on July 4th

Please note, that in honor of the 4th of July, the club will be closing at noon on Saturday so that our staff can enjoy the holiday with their families and friends. All morning programming on the 4th will remain the same. Have a safe and happy 4th!

Wimbledon Team Challenge, Sunday, July 12

Bring a little Wimbledon spirit to Gold Key Racquet Club during our Wimbledon Team Challenge on Sunday, July 12 at 8:00 AM. This fun and competitive event will feature 24 players divided into two teams of 12. Coach Judah will lead the Green Team, while Coach Theo will lead the Purple Team.

Players will compete in an exciting Up and Down the River doubles format. Winning pairs will move up one court, while losing pairs will move down. Court 1 will serve as the top court and Court 6 as the bottom court. Matches will consist of 5 game doubles sets, with each court victory earning points toward the team’s overall score. An optional final tiebreak may also be played for 5 bonus points, giving teams one last opportunity to make a comeback. The team with the highest final score will be crowned champion.

All players are encouraged to wear traditional all white tennis attire, with green and purple wristbands identifying each team. We may even add a Wimbledon inspired touch with strawberries and cream. Space is limited to 24 players, so early registration is strongly encouraged. The cost is $20 per player.

Ladies 3.0 to 3.5 Summer Showdown Update

We are officially halfway through the Ladies 3.0 to 3.5 Summer Showdown, and the competition continues to heat up. Every Wednesday night has delivered fast paced tennis, smart team strategy, and the kind of energy that has made this one of the most enjoyable events of the summer.

The Terminets currently lead the standings and continue to build strong momentum, while the Switch Bees and Summer Swingers are tied for second place. With five weeks remaining, the race is still wide open, and every match will matter as the teams battle for a place in the August 8 Championship.

The fun extends beyond the courts with themed Wednesday nights, plenty of team spirit, and weekly drink specials that keep the atmosphere lively throughout the evening. Follow our Facebook page for updated scores, match highlights, photos, and memorable moments as the Summer Showdown enters its exciting second half. The Dink Watch Party, Friday, July 24

Join us in the Gold Key Sports Bar after clinic on Friday, July 24 for a watch party celebrating the premiere of The Dink, a new Apple TV sports comedy. The story follows a former tennis prodigy who reluctantly enters the world of pickleball, setting the stage for what should be a funny and entertaining evening for tennis and pickleball fans alike.

Drink specials and special pricing on select food items will be available throughout the evening. Come ready to relax, laugh, and enjoy the movie with fellow members and friends. No advance registration is necessary. Simply stop by after clinic, grab a seat, and join the fun.

After Clinic Pool Party, Friday, July 31

Keep the summer fun going during our After Clinic Pool Party on Friday, July 31. Once clinic ends, head over to the pool for a relaxed evening of swimming, music, laughter, and great company. It is the perfect opportunity to cool off, unwind, and spend time with fellow players and friends away from the courts.

The evening will feature drink specials, food available for purchase, and plenty of poolside fun. Grab your swimsuit, bring your summer spirit, and join us for a Friday night centered around community, connection, and good times. To RSVP, contact tricia@goldkeyracquetclub.com.

July Clinic Update

The only clinic schedule change for July is the cancellation of the Wednesday Serve Clinic due to limited participation. We are always looking for new ways to improve our programming and offer clinics that reflect the interests and needs of our players.

Members are encouraged to share clinic ideas and feedback with their instructors. Whether there is a particular skill, format, playing level, or type of instruction you would like to see offered, we want to hear from you. Your feedback helps us continue developing programs that our members will enjoy and support.

Tuesday Night Men’s Doubles

Tuesday Night Men’s Doubles offers a great combination of competition, camaraderie, and social time, with play beginning each week at 7:00 PM. Courts are grouped by level to help create balanced and enjoyable matchups, while the rotating format keeps each week fresh and engaging.

Members receive priority access, with non-members joining as space allows. After the matches, many players stay to unwind with drinks and snacks in the Sports Bar. To be added to the weekly list, contact cheryl@goldkeyracquetclub.com.

Junior Summer Programming Continues

Although our Recreational Summer Camp has concluded for the season, junior tennis opportunities continue throughout July. Private lessons remain available for developing players, while our Pre Elite and Elite Academy programs will continue serving more advanced juniors who are ready for focused training and competitive development.

For additional information, or to determine which program is the best fit for your junior player, contact Program Director Luis Ridaura at luis@goldkeyracquetclub.com.
